The mission of the South Dakota Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics is to keep its members professionally supported and informed, so they can ensure the health, well-being, and safety of all children and young adults living in South Dakota.

Rochelle Boote, MD

Dr. Rochelle Boote is the current Vice President. She has been a general pediatrician in Sioux Falls with Avera for five years, and lives in Sioux Falls with her dog Ghirardelli (yes, named after the famous chocolate brand).

Alaa Al-Nofal, MD​

Dr. Alaa Al Nofal is the Chapter Treasurer. He is a pediatric endocrinologist at Sanford Children’s Specialty Clinic. He also holds a masters degree in business administration from the University of Sioux Falls and currently serves as the pediatric Endocrinology division chief at the University of South Dakota, Sanford School of Medicine. He lives in Sioux Falls with a wife, two toddlers, and a newborn.

Eleanor Turner

Eleanor Turner is in her first year as Executive Director. Originally from the United Kingdom, she is the published author of over a dozen books on the topic of baby names. She now lives and works full-time in Sioux Falls with her family and a very fluffy cat.
